Why Should I Attend the GRO-Biz Conference & Idea Expo

The Wyoming SBDC Network hosts several events every year from live workshops and classes to webinars on virtually every topic you can imagine about owning and growing a business. All of these opportunities to learn can provide value to your business but our largest event every year, the GRO-Biz Conference & Idea Expo, is our most comprehensive event for finding new ways to expand your market. This year's event will be held in Casper on February 22-23. Here are a few ways it can benefit your business:

 

  • The event features three components: networking with government agencies to learn about opportunities to sell to them, attending workshops (11 separate topics will be offered throughout the event) to learn about specific business growth strategies or government contracting topics, and learning about other low or no-cost business resources throughout Wyoming to help your business grow. 

 

  • A vital part of selling to the government is getting to know the agencies in your area and the contracting staff that work for them. This conference provides you an opportunity to sit down and visit one-on-one with over two dozen contracting staff from agencies such as F.E. Warren Air Force Base, the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Bureau of Reclamation, the General Services Administration, and others. Having all of these agencies represented in the same place is rare and a great opportunity to introduce your business.

 

  • The 11 different breakout sessions cover a wide variety of topics including six related to general business growth and hot topics as well as five on specific government contracting issues. This year we'll be looking at marketing to government agencies, cybersecurity, preparing and submitting invoices for government jobs, exporting, creating innovative and creative work environments, preparing government RFPs (proposals), creating trust through leadership, finding opportunities to work with the State of Wyoming, technology commercialization, regulatory updates on government certification programs, and intellectual property issues. Whether you want to sell to the government or not, this event features something for every type of business. 

 

  • Finally, this is a chance to learn about all the incredible resources available to Wyoming businesses. The Wyoming SBDC Network is one of several agencies throughout the state that offer specialized business assistance, usually at low or no cost to you. Again, this is a rare opportunity to learn about all the specialized services available to help your business grow.
