You Don’t Have to Grow Your Business Alone

The reason many entrepreneurs choose to start their own business is because they have a strong passion in a particular area and want to bring that interest and knowledge to their community. For example, bakers love to bake and to share their goods with customers. What many entrepreneurs often find is they are not as good at or as interested in many of the other aspects needed to operate a business. These things include managing finances, marketing, sales, merchandising, buying goods, evaluating contracts and many more highly detailed and specific tasks.

As a former small business owner myself, I know how difficult it can be trying to juggle everything on your own. Many entrepreneurs may be surprised to learn that Wyoming has a huge variety of business assistance programs—most available at no cost to residents. Having a strong team of skilled advisors allows you to focus your talents on your true passion and providing great services or goods to the customer.

The Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network has experts in a wide range of specialties including: Marketing, online presence, social media, cybersecurity, financial health checkups, business operations, loan applications, writing a business plan and many other business needs. Additionally, the Wyoming SBDC Network is part of the Wyoming Business Resource Network (BRN).

Sponsored by the University of Wyoming and the Wyoming Business Council, all members of the BRN act as an entry point for any entrepreneur to access a wide variety of assistance. If a BRN member doesn’t match your specific needs, they will point you to the right resource to accomplish your goal. Other members of the BRN include:

  • Wyoming Procurement Technical Assistance Center
  • Market Research Center
  • Wyoming SBIR/STTR Initiative
  • Manufacturing Works
  • Wyoming Technology Transfer and Research Products Center
  • Wyoming Technology Business Center
  • Wyoming Women’s Business Center

Regardless of where you are in the small business process—planning, launching, growing or even leaving a business—the Wyoming SBDC Network and the Wyoming Business Resource Network can help. To get started, visit WyomingSBDC.org and register to get in contact with an advisor for confidential, no-cost assistance. You can find more information on this topic right now in the blog section of our website.
