Success Stories: Wyoming Gear Builders

WGB Pack-in-use.gifWGB pack-close-up.gifWyoming Gear Builders is a start-up business that has created some very unique products designed for outdoorsmen, law enforcement, military and first responders.  Designer and owner, Cam Siplon, returned from a hunting trip several years ago and began rebuilding his backpack into “something better.”  That rebuilding attempt morphed into a whole new product and a new start-up business.  The resulting pack is a modular design with 40+ total parts.

Cam currently puts them together and does the sewing himself.  His basement is set-up as a design studio and professional cut and sew facility.  The packs can be adjusted to fit different torso lengths and are capable of carrying up to 100 lbs.  They are not intended to replace a frame pack, but have amazing expansion capabilities, and can carry “lots of animal parts & gear”for several miles.

WGB IFAK.gifIn addition to backpacks, WGB manufactures pistol belts, an emergency escape bag for firefighters, IFAK kits, and is capable of producing custom pieces.  The IFAK kit is designed for a single individual to treat a bullet wound in the field.  The kit contains a tourniquet, pressure dressing and coagulant.  The bag is designed to fit in a cargo pocket and can be deployed one-handed.  Currently, every Natrona County Sheriff’s Deputy carries this IFAK in the field.  Custom products for military special forces and hunting guides have also been designed and manufactured.

Wyoming Gear Builders’current success lies in attention to detail, using quality components and manufacturing techniques and extensive field testing.  No detail has been overlooked.  Even the zipper pulls on the backpack are embossed with the WGB logo.  The road has been long and painstaking, but great sales potential is on the horizon.
