Crenshaw Craftsmanship builds upon success

Front Entry small for web.jpgAdam Crenshaw assumed that upon opening his new business in March 2017, he would be required to spend lots of time marketing his diverse services.

He was mistaken. Surprisingly and happily so.

“The day I opened my doors, the phone started ringing,” he said. “Thankfully, it’s been ringing ever since. I’ve had plenty of work.”

“That’s been the bread and butter,” he said. “People wanting to do kitchen remodels or bathroom remodels, you name it.”

Essentially, he provides a roadmap for landscape improvements and beautification.

To round out his services, Adam’s makes custom furniture for businesses and homeowners.

Katie Lewis of Lander had a maple countertop and cabinets in her home that did not fit together properly. So, she sought professional assistance to correct the problem.

“We talked to several contractors, and none of them were really confident they could pull it off,” she said.

To Katie’s delight, Adam completed the task expertly and flawlessly. “He’s got a wonderful eye for detail,” she said. “Some of the work required real finesse, and he pulled it off amazingly.”

She also appreciated Adam’s attention to more mundane details as the work progressed. “At the end of the day, he picked up all his tools and swept the floor,” she said. “Our house was completely livable.”

Julie Cornia and her husband, Paul, engaged Crenshaw Craftsmanship to coordinate construction of a detached office at their home. Julie owns Black Dog Design in Lander. Julie also contacted Adam to install a timber-frame sign and associated landscaping for one of her clients, Fremont Orthopaedics.

Julie was particularly impressed by Adam’s reliability. “His follow-through is great,” she said. “When he says he’ll do something, he does it.”

Global+table+2 small for web.jpgAs his business phone started ringing, Adam was making some calls of his own, including to the Wyoming Small Business Development Center Network. Sarah Hamlin, the SBDC’s regional director for Fremont and Teton counties, helped Adam answer a variety of start-up questions.

“Sarah was integral in helping me understand some of the initial steps that needed to be taken in starting my own business in Wyoming,” he said, such as fulfilling state requirements for a new business. The SBDC also worked with Adam on website development, QuickBooks, and assorted financial matters.

Regardless of where the path leads, as Adam grows his business, he will be able to count on resources of the SBDC at every step along the way.
