The Department of Energy participates in both SBIR and STTR programs. In this introductory webinar, attendees will learn about the upcoming Release 2 including important dates, which program offices are participating, the difference between SBIR and STTR, the free application assistance available, how to manage your time and keep your team on target for the upcoming deadlines.

Presenter: Christie Bell is the founder and president of Christie Bell Incorporated (CBI), a Certified Woman-Owned Small Business (C-WOSB) and Certified Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) consulting firm providing client support for licensing and technology transfer, intellectual property concerns and technical assistance for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants. Christie provides one-on-one counseling, company site visits, and workshops as well as connecting clients with commercialization resources and strategic federal and state partners for technology transfer. Christie is a Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) and has extensive experience in guiding innovators in her private consulting practice in all aspects of Intellectual Property (IP) commercialization, such as market research, IP protection options and methods, pitch materials, licensing agreements, Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) terms, foreign and domestic patent rights, trademarks and copyrights. Christie’s extensive experience in project management and strong background in business administration, budgeting and analysis make her ideally suited for taking ideas out of the laboratory and to the marketplace.
