Please join Rocky Mountain Assistant Regional Director David Le, and Primary Patent Examiner and Outreach Advisor Rachelle Reichert, at this interactive virtual session as they discuss intellectual property basics, including the importance of IP as a business decision.  David and Rachelle will explain the different types of IP (trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights, and patents), and business considerations for each one, followed by a Q&A session.

Presenters:  David Le Assistant Regional Director Rocky Mountain U. S. Patent and Trademark Office David joined the USPTO in January 2009, and examined patents relating to information security and cryptography. He joined the outreach team in various roles at the Rocky Mountain Regional Office in 2016 and 2018, and transitioned to the Assistant Regional Director in February 2020. The Rocky Mountain USPTO services Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. He has B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law. He is also a member of the Oklahoma State Bar. He enjoys snowboarding, camping, hiking, and all sorts of fishing. Rachelle Reichert, Primary Examiner &Outreach Advisor Rocky Mountain U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Rachelle joined the USPTO in 2015 in the Denver office. She graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Western Michigan University and a J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law. She is in TC 3600(AU 3686) and examines a wide variety of healthcare business methods patent applications including: electronic medical records, healthcare decision support, patient risk assessment, telehealth, patient scheduling, patient monitoring and health management. She is actively involved in the Rocky Mountain Work Life and Women in Technology and Science organizations in the Rocky Mountain Office.
